Quick picks
The seven the experts agree on
The research looked at eight groups. Seven of them know the RAV4 well: off-road builders, overlanders, 12-volt installers, hybrid and Prime owners, accessory reviewers, dog owners and gear haulers, and snow and towing owners. The eighth is everyday owners who buy from Toyota's accessory list and Amazon's best-sellers. These seven items were each named by at least two of the knowledgeable groups.

A RAV4 TRD Off-Road on its factory A/T Trails, from Driving Sports TV's video.
An aggressive look and better grip on dirt and snow, without rubbing the stock wheel wells or killing the gas mileage that drew people to a RAV4 in the first place.
Find sizes and dealers on Falken's Wildpeak A/T Trail page. We go into this tire in detail in our rugged winter tires guide, including owner scores and how it does on ice.

An owner's RAV4 with a Prinsu rack, from Danny Rocksteady's build walkaround.
The standard low-profile platform rack for overland gear and rooftop tents. Overlanders like that it's modular aluminum, bolts on securely and holds the weight of a tent when parked.
- Keep in mind: owners say the install needs careful sealing against water. And the Prinsu can't go on a RAV4 with the panoramic glass roof. Our roof racks guide covers the racks that do work with that roof.
- Where to buy: the standard Prinsu rack for the 2019 to 2025 RAV4 is $980 at Rack Attack. Retailers say it works on the Adventure and TRD Off-Road only after you remove the side rails, and that the headliner comes down to install it.

An LP Aventure skid plate on an owner's 2021 RAV4, from WA7JNJ Radio's install video.
Thick aluminum that protects the low front end and the engine from rocks that would crack the plastic bumper.
- Where to buy: LP Aventure's front skid plate for the 2019 to 2025 RAV4 is $285. It's 3/16-inch aluminum and has holes for oil changes.
- Toyota's own plate: off-road builders also name Toyota's skid plate as the cheapest common armor. The one we found, part PT938-42210, is $362.25 at a Toyota dealer's parts site, listed for 2022 to 2024 RAV4s. That listing says steel, not aluminum, so ask the dealer which plate fits your year and trim.

An owner's 2019 RAV4 Adventure right after its Eibach lift, from Danny Rocksteady's video.
Swaps the factory springs for a 1.5 to 2 inch lift, without overstretching the axles or the vibration owners get from taller spacer lifts.
- Fit: Eibach's page for kit E30-82-088-01-22 lists 2019 to 2025 AWD RAV4s, including the Hybrid AWD, Adventure and TRD Off-Road, for $399. It doesn't list front-wheel-drive models. Most lift kits don't fit the hybrid, so this is one of the few that says it does. See our lift kit table for others.

A Curt Class III hitch (Curt part 13416) on an owner's 2021 RAV4, from Installs and Pitfalls.
Bolts on with no drilling and hides the cross tube behind the bumper, so it looks clean. Reviewers say a 2-inch receiver fits common bike racks and cargo carriers better than smaller ones.
- Wiring: etrailer pairs it with the Curt C56434 T-connector wiring harness, which it lists for RAV4s including the 2025 Hybrid.
- Another option: snow and towing owners name the Torklift EcoHitch, which costs less than Toyota's hitch and sits high so you keep your ground clearance.

Fitcamx sells it from $168. It powers from the plug behind the rearview mirror, so there are no wires to route and it looks like a factory part.
- If picture quality matters most: in separate research on dash cams that can read license plates, the Fitcamx wasn't the pick. See our dash cam guide.

A Comma 3X in an owner's 2021 RAV4 Hybrid, from Gary Cantrell's video.
Open-source driver assist that replaces the factory lane-keeping for hands-free highway driving. You still have to watch the road.
- It's been replaced: comma now sells the comma four in place of the 3X, for $999 plus a harness for your car. Check comma's site that it supports your RAV4's year.
Everyday accessories people recommend
- WeatherTech FloorLiner ($179.90 for a full set) and cargo liner: close-fitting liners with raised edges that hold mud, snow and spills. Dog owners like the cargo liner for hair and mud. Sources: owner thread, WeatherTech cargo liner.

- LASFIT (from $109.99) or TuxMat (from $109.50, with a separate hybrid version) floor mats: higher sides and more coverage than the factory mats. Prime owners say TuxMat fits the Prime's slightly different trunk. Sources: LASFIT review video, r/rav4prime.
- Center console organizer tray: adds a shelf to the deep console so coins and keys stop sliding to the bottom. Vehicle OCD and Salusy are the ones named. The Vehicle OCD tray for the 2019 to 2025 RAV4 is $16.99 and made in the USA. We couldn't find a Salusy tray for these years. Source: Amazon search.
- Michelin CrossClimate 2 tires: good in snow and ice without a second set of winter tires. Our snow tires guide covers it.
- Dedicated winter tires: Bridgestone Blizzak is the trusted heavy-snow choice but wears fast on dry roads. Michelin X-Ice has top ice grip and lasts longer. Source: owner thread.
- Thule Motion 3 roof box: holds skis and camping gear, but owners warn about loud wind noise over the sunroof. It comes in several sizes, and the Motion 3 L was about $1,100 on Thule's site.
- Kuat Transfer V2 hitch bike rack: clears the liftgate and saves you lifting bikes onto the tall roof. The 2-bike version for a 2-inch hitch is $549 on Amazon.
If you haul a dog
- WeatherTech Pet Door Protectors: thin plastic tabs that wedge into the window seal, so a dog can't knock them loose like suction cups. Sources: owner thread, WeatherTech.
- Canvasback cargo liner, $209: covers the floor, seat backs and side panels without Velcro that ruins the cloth. Source: owner thread.
- Kurgo Coast to Coast hammock: unzips so you can still fold down part of the 60/40 seat for gear. Source: owner thread.

- Off-road builders: Diode Dynamics ditch lights, which mount to the hood hinges and light up dark, twisty dirt roads. Diode's kits for the 2019 to 2025 RAV4 start at $299.95 on Amazon.
- Overlanders: the iKamper Skycamp Mini rooftop tent, which sleeps two and fits the RAV4's roof. The Skycamp 3.0 Mini is $2,800 and was sold out on iKamper's site. Our rooftop tents guide does the weight math.
- Stereo installers: the iDatalink Maestro RR module ($189.99, plus a harness for your car) keeps the steering wheel buttons and backup camera working with an aftermarket stereo. The PAC LPHTY02 harness ($69.99) and AudioControl LC7i converter help add an amp without cutting factory wires. Source: r/CarAV. Our stereo guide walks through upgrades.
- Prime owners: the Grizzl-E Classic home charger ($299.99), which can be set to match the Prime's 6.6 kW limit. They also named the JuiceBox 40, but its maker left the US and Canadian markets in October 2024, so we don't recommend buying one. BougeRV crossbars are a cheap set they take off when not in use to cut wind noise, though we couldn't find BougeRV crossbars listed for the RAV4. Source: charger thread.
What gets advertised versus what experts buy
Everyday owners mostly buy from Toyota's accessory list and Amazon's best-sellers: Toyota's all-weather floor liners and cargo tray, Toyota crossbars, mudguards, window visors, and door sill and rear bumper protectors. These are sensible basic parts, but the knowledgeable groups rarely mention them. Sources: Toyota accessory brochure, Toyota interior accessories.
How this list was put together
The research on October 9, 2026 looked at what each group recommends in its own places, like RAV4World, the RAV4 subreddits, Expedition Portal, the12volt.com, etrailer, PriusChat, YouTube review channels and Toyota's own accessory pages. It counts who recommends what and why. It doesn't measure sales, and we haven't tested these products. A lot of the expert evidence is thin, so treat the order as a guide. Several sources point to a whole forum rather than a single thread.
Buddy's take
Start with floor liners and a hitch. WeatherTech liners and a Curt Class III hitch are simple, useful and well liked.
If you head onto dirt roads, the Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail is the one upgrade every off-road group agrees on.
Check the fit before buying a rack or a lift. The Prinsu won't work with the panoramic roof, and most lift kits don't fit the hybrid.
